“The Promise”
Kergyma Community Choir
From the album Kergyma: The Proclamation
www.kergyma.org

Hitting a traditional chord in the opening measure and transitioning into a contemporary groove, “The Promise” features Pastor J.T. Morgan, a marvelous male lead, whose melismatic chops sound straight out of Detroit.

Founded in 2001 by Gwendolyn Busch and Arnold Johnson, the Kergyma (pron. ker-gee-mah) Community Choir hails from New Haven, Connecticut, home of Yale University.

The premise of this gently powerful song of hope is even when it doesn’t feel like it, God is a promise keeper and has not forgotten you.  Listen for yourself:

Every now and then a song comes along the gives you hope, and faith. This is just that song. In the times we are living with the recession, people losing jobs, getting laid off and still trying to meet their daily needs. This songs reminds us that God is still a Promise keeper. This song is my new daily anthem. Thank you Kergyma Community Choir. God truly spoke to me thru your ministry

This song really ministers to the spirit. The melody doesn’t overwhelm the message: God ‘s plan isn’t always our plan. Be patient, be obedient – wait on The Lord. Even in our waiting on Him He desires our thanks and worship.

When I listened to the song it touched my spirit in such a way I had to play it over and over because at that time I was low in spirit but God always has someone or something that comes along as a reminder that he had not forgotten you! Through the song my faith has gotten a little stronger.
    He Is A Promise Keeper!

This song reminds me that God keeps His Word. If He said it, I know He’s going to do it. Just have to stay encouraged but patient at the same time. It’s hard to do both at times, especially when you’re going through, but you have to remind yourself that if He did it before that she can do it again. His Word never fails and His promises are true! With all that being said, I will continue to play this song and let it be my testimony. Now unto Him who is ABLE………

This song ministers to me everytime I hear it. I have played it over and over. When I start to think that there is no hope, it just reminds me that I just need to wait on God because he is a promise keeper.
