You may remember Lady Voncile Belcher as the woman who portrayed the “old lady” on the Georgia Mass Choir’s “Look Where He Brought Me From.” Lady Voncile’s “Yes” is not the Shekinah Glory Ministry song of the same name but a funky mid-tempo and semi-traditional sounding acceptance of discipleship.

The Alabama-born songster sings, shouts and squalls alongside a small but mighty ensemble of background vocalists. Keen listeners will catch a few bars of the COGIC chant “Yes Lord” nestled in there. It’s the best of the eight tracks on her album Kourageous.
