Bishop Carlton Pearson died of cancer on Sunday night while in hospice care in Tulsa, Oklahoma, his agent, Will Bogle, said. Pearson was 70.

Fans of gospel music will remember fondly Bishop Pearson’s 1996 album, Live At Azusa 2 – Precious Memories, which featured artists such as Pop Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Beverly Crawford, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Jonathan DuBose, and others.

May Bishop Carlton Pearson rest in peace and may God console his family, friends, and many fans. As the hymn goes, “the strife is over, the battle is won.”
