JGM is saddened to learn of the passing of Spencer Bouvier Taylor III, drummer and singer with the legendary quartet the Highway QCs.
Born in November 1966, Bouvier (“Boo”) graduated from high school with four scholarship offers but preferred to travel with the Highway QCs instead. “I always wanted to be on the road,” he told his father Spencer Taylor Jr.’s biographers Noah Schaffer and Dr. Veryl Howard. “In fact, when we were kids coming up, we used to play this game we called ‘Gospel Singers.’ Every night before we would go to bed, we would act like we were groups on the road. . .Me and Fuzzy (Lynn Taylor) had a cardboard box and we pretended it was our tour bus.”
Later, Bouvier took over the business management and booking of the group and, with family members, opened a bus company called Taylor Brothers Transportation.
Homegoing details will be forthcoming when available. In the meantime, please join us in extending sympathies to the family, friends, and many fans of Spencer Bouvier Taylor III as well as the Taylor and Highway QCs family.

I only met him once in 2017 at a concert in Los Angeles. I hadn’t seen his dad since 1974 but he remembered me right off. What impressed me was that through the devotional and the opening groups, Bouvier and Spencer sat on the front row the entire time. Rest in Peace, Bouvier…
He will be missed from this iconic group. RIP
My heart felt condolences to the Taylor family during this time of grief my prayers that god give u and ur family strength and peace
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Taylor family for your loss, may God Strengthen each one of you…🙏🙏🙏
The last time I saw him was either May or June of 2022. We had a transportation charter together & after dropping the school kids off in Fairfax, VA – my colleague & I parked our bus & rode with Taylor on his Entertainer Coach Bus to unwind & go get something to eat. He was quite generous and paid the entire bill. He wanted me to come work him, as I had 24 years in transportation, but I knew I was leaving the Motorcoach Industry to return to Federal Govt Service, which I did in fact do on June 24th. It would have been so nice to travel over the road with him on that beauty, but it was not meant to be. Every time I was blessed to run into him he always had a hug & a smile & that’s what I’ll always remember.
RIP My Friend, sending Prayers of comfort and strength to the family

Heartfelt condolences to the Taylor family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all. The Flowers family of Grenada, Mississippi. 🙏
I met him a few times and he was always that same uplifting positive professional person. He even came to Bainbridge Georgia to help with a concert to promote cancer awareness due to the loss of my younger son. I know they didn’t make any money on that trip but he never changed his attitude about it. He will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to the family.
