“Glad to be in the Service”
Isaac Lindsey
Independent (release date: September 1, 2024)
By Robert M. Marovich
Although Mississippi quartet maven and radio host Isaac Lindsey goes solo on “Glad to be in the Service,” he stays not only “in the service” but solidly in the quartet mode.
Joining him are another quartet fan, Bishop Neal Roberson, and new artist Apostle Contrail Pate. To the customary quartet backbeat, the three express their delight to serve the Lord, especially given the examples of God’s presence in their own lives as well as in the lives of their biological and church families. Mostly, it’s an emotional evocation of the soul-stirring power of church worship.
