“I Don’t Know”
Mari Ramsey
From the album Divine Intervention (release date: November 9, 2022)
By Robert M. Marovich
A lovely solo ballad written by singer-guitarist Mari Ramsey and his foster father, “I Don’t Know” is a prayer raised in that defining moment when everything seems lost and all that’s left is to put faith in God and let him lead.
The lyrics express Ramsey’s emotional journey from broken home to foster home. Musically, the single walks a fine line between gospel and CCM, meaning it has the potential to show up on either chart.
“I Don’t Know” was produced in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (the town where Richie “Ace High” Acevedo recorded Parable) by Mike Young of Black Oak Recordings. A fine introduction to a new indie artist.
