Jason Singleton & the Sound of Destiny Choir sing “choir-tet” style on “I Feel the Spirit.”
The title of the song telegraphs the sentiment: the group members feel the spirit moving in their soul and they just can’t hide it. It moves to a hard-chugging tempo, features plenty of call-and-response between Singleton and the choir, and has a sure enough vamp.
Jason Singleton is a member of Destiny Worship Center, North Charleston, SC, where he is director of worship and arts and the outreach minister. This is his second visit to JGM; his Lowcountry single “Blessed My Soul” was the January 30, 2024, Pick of the Week.
