“Press On”
Da T.R.U.T.H. & Isaac Carree
From the Bad Things Happen In Philadelphia soundtrack album
Shanachie Entertainment (release date: December 1, 2023)

It’s gratifying to see contemporary gospel artists like Isaac Carree and Christian rapper Da T.R.U.T.H. featured on the same soundtrack as top R&B artists like Jill Scott.
That’s what’s happening on the soundtrack for Bad Things Happen In Philadelphia, producer/director Kyra Knox’s award-winning documentary film about gun violence in Philadelphia and how Gary Mills’s organization Shoot Baskets Not People is bringing hope back into the lives of the city’s youth.
One of the soundtrack selections, the haunting “Press On,” features Carree singing the phrase “Press on / you’ll find your way” over and over, like a mantra, while Da T.R.U.T.H. delivers street-smart wisdom on the subject of resilience. It joins equally affecting selections from Jill Scott, YungDave67, Beam, and others. While it complements the documentary, the song can stand on its own.
The film, executive produced by Basketball Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, premiered on Fox Soul and Prime Video on December 2.
