“Jesus I Do”
Mariah Carey feat. The Clark Sisters
Gamma (release date: September 26, 2025)

My expectations ran high when I learned about “Jesus I Do,” a collaboration between Mariah Carey and the Clark Sisters that appears on Carey’s 2025 album, Here For It All.
Carey’s signature dog-whistle soprano notes and a few flourishes of harmony from the collective are the single’s standout moments, but overall, the song and arrangement are far too dependent on keeping up with the insistent pop beat to eke the most utility out of the artists and the message. A more measured tempo with well-placed pauses that enabled the singers to draw the gospel drama out of the song would have made the track much more appealing.
