I think this is a great thing that you are doing.
We are seeking your help.
We are old-school brothers from Chicago with great harmonizing voices and want to start a gospel quartet group singing the southern gospel songs we grew up on.
Where can we find a list of songs, sheet music, lyrics and albums, cassettes or CDs of 40s, 50s and 60s Southern Gospel Music harmonizing quartets.
Are there any discussion groups or other places that we can look for information?
We all remember Al Abrams gospel hour on Sunday morning. The Northlete? Brothers where a favorite.

The movie Pastor Brown screened in Miami last weekend and I’m hearing good things about it. A pastor’s daughter turned exotic dancer who goes on to become a pastor herself? should be interesting… I’m hoping it has great gospel music featured. Nicole Ari Parker is also in it. Great cast, we’ll see how it does.

Last night, I had the distinct pleasure of attending an advance screening of the major motion picture “Pastor Brown” and I must say that I had a truly wonderful time. Simply said, the film is awesome. I found it uplifting and motivating, but at the same time intriguing and entertaining.
The film, which is based on the biblical story of the prodigal son, will certainly inspire anyone that has ever experienced a broken relationship. Whether it is a father/daughter, mother/son or sister/sister relationship in need of repair, this movie reminds us that it’s never too late to seek forgiveness and to grant the same. We all fall short of the glory of God, but thankfully we’re all deserving of His grace – another central theme of the movie.
Although this movie focuses on biblical principles, it’s not an in your face preachy film. This is a quality film that the entire family will enjoy. In fact, I saw it with my twelve year-old son and he was yelling at the screen just like me. That’s right the characters will move you so much, that you’ll want to slap them one minute and then reach out and tenderly embrace them the next.
The movie boasts an all-star cast. I promise you will recognize everyone in the film. There are even some surprise appearances by a couple of R&B singers. And a well-known televangelist makes his acting debut (he’s not simply playing himself ya’ll) and I must say he does a commendable job.
If you have a chance to attend an advance screening, I highly recommend it. I know there is at least one more scheduled for the Houston area. But if you don’t make it out to a screening, definitely go out and support this movie when it hits theaters. Let’s let Hollywood know that these are the types of movies we want to see.
And for all my lovely sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, the vice-president of Rock Capital Studios, the distributor of the film, is one of our exquisite sorors, so let’s support her in her efforts to uplift our people.

Saw a sneak preview in Houston last week. Even Creflo Dollar was good! Inspirational, food for thought and many conversation topics in Bible study or with young people. Professional work. Congrats and much financial success! The spiritual fruits are already evident.
