The name Totally 4 Him suggests a small gospel choir, but make no mistake—it’s a gospel quartet from its harmonies and gritty call-and-response between group and lead vocalist to the strutting rhythm and hypnotic vamp.
The men demonstrate all of this on their live recording of “Be a Witness,” a cheerful and infectious handclapper about the delights and rewards of being a “sanctified witness for the Lord.” Totally 4 Him even encourages members of the audience to stand and come up to the stage “if you want to be a witness.” That’s audience participation!
The quartet from Georgia last appeared on JGM in 2014, on a song featuring quartet veterans Doug Williams and Stan Jones.
