“Till We Meet”
Jerard & Jovaun
From the CD No Troubled Hearts (release date: February 17, 2023)

By Robert M. Marovich

At less than one minute in length, “Till We Meet” is the shortest Pick of the Week in Journal of Gospel Music history.

Nevertheless, this elision of Numbers 6:24 and the jazz song “Cherokee” is too remarkable to pass by. It is an a cappella rendering evocative of Take Six and sung by the husband-wife duo Jerard & Jovaun. Their estimable vocal skills were honed as members of the late Andrae’ Crouch’s group.

The harmonies are impeccable and the song, despite—or perhaps because of—its diminutive size, is an ideal way to bid farewell to the congregation after worship service is over.
