Opening with a classic gospel chuckle, Roberson proceeds to express his gratitude to God for his continued blessings. The bishop’s rough-edged singing and shouting cries out for an equally gritty lead singer to add a second voice, and voila! Darnell Williams of the Williams Singers appears to do the honors.
The song’s trad-contemporary vibe, driven by a funky rhythm section, comes from the estimable pen and production of Percy Gray.
