“Tell It”
Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir featuring Shawn Cotterell
MNRK Music Group (release date: April 10, 2026)
By Robert M. Marovich
The vertical praise that the Toronto-based group just can’t keep to themselves they express on “Tell It,” an enthusiastic piece with moments of sparkling harmonies, even if unnecessarily heavy-handed on the funky intro. Without a lead vocalist, the song is fairly conventional except for a special section that begins after the midway point, though the choir could have made the special even more effective by singing a few bars a cappella or by incorporating cascading harmonies or echoing parts.
Nevertheless, the Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir has the accomplished sound of professional mass choirs of the 1990s. “Tell It” is an excellent opening piece for a worship service.
