By itself, “Always There” is a conventional mid-tempo gospel ballad, but Carlton Person’s voice sells it.

In A City Called Heaven, gospel announcer and music historian Robert Marovich shines a light on the humble origins of a majestic genre and its indispensable bond to the city where it found its voice: Chicago.

The Beverly Arts Center will open its Pride Month Celebration Sunday, June 9, with Shout OUT: A Tribute to Gays in Gospel Music.

Produced by Brown, Gaither Tribute features Gaither compositions reinterpreted by stars like Reba McEntyre, Alabama, Hillary Scott, Jamey Johnson, CeCe Winans, and Ronnie Milsap. The album is slated for release by the Gaither Music Group (distributed by Capitol Christian Music Group and Universal Music) on Friday, August 25.

In addition to everything already being said about Rev. Jackson's achievements, it should be noted that he also loved gospel music.
